Through monthly film nights, affordable arts classes for children, and gallery events (displaying the art of the students and local working artists) Aldrich Arts Collaborative hopes to bring artists and our diverse communities together to nurture young artists, honor artistic excellence, explore and express spirituality, and celebrate the diversity of South Minneapolis.

Aldrich Arts Collaborative is a collaboration between local artists, Aldrich Church, local contributing businesses, and neighborhood students and patrons. We believe the arts open us to a deeper understanding of God, our society, and ourselves. Because of this, we embrace the arts as an essential public good—critical to a healthy society and healthy faith communities, invaluable for personal enrichment and growth, and a door to creating a more just, compassionate, beautiful world.

The Collaborative intends to:

• Nurture creativity in the next generation by offering affordable artistic classes for neighborhood youth.  No one will be turned away due to lack of funds.
• Honor the artistic excellence of local artists, displaying and selling their work.
• Artistically explore the mysteries of life and faith.
• Celebrate and integrate diverse communities within our neighborhood, learning from one another, and extending hospitality to all.
• Enrich the life of the community through the experience and creation of art.
• Uphold honesty and open human expression of joy, grief, fear, hope, awe.
• Work to heal centuries of suspicion and antagonism between artists and faith communities.
• Work toward a more compassionate and just society.
