Matt Johnson - Senior Pastor I came to Aldrich Church from Vancouver, BC where I completed my seminary training at Regent College. Though I'm originally from the state of Washington, my wife Sonja Soderlund is a true Canadian, so watch the Canuck jokes. I love good conversation, a strong cup of coffee, and anything that helps people (including myself) discover God's presence in the everyday aspects of life. In the midst of its many problems, I enjoy the diversity, energy, and potential of the city. I came to Aldrich Church because I believe that cities need vibrant urban faith communities. The two things I love the most about my job are preaching and the opportunity to help people use the gifts God has given them wherever they find themselves.

Gail Haugen - Minister of Spiritual Formation I've been on staff at Aldrich since March 2003. My passion is to join people in their journey of faith and guide them into a deeper relationship with Christ. I grew up in Minneapolis and have spent most of my life here. I also lived in the Chicago area for about eight years. I'm married to Tom, and together we have four children; two adults and two teenagers. In 1997 I responded to God's call to enter church ministry, and in 2003 received a Master's degree in theology with a concentration in Ministry Leadership from Bethel Seminary in St. Paul, MN. In my spare time I love to visit local coffee shops, read, sail, buy kitchen gadgets that I seldom use, and spend time with my family. |

Michael
von Gross - Director of Youth and Worship A native of MN, I grew up in nearby Prior Lake. I studied Biblical and Theological Studies at Bethel University before continuing on to Princeton Seminary for a Master of Divinity degree. I've held ministry positions in Minnesota, New Jersey, Israel, France, and Guatemala. Some of my hobbies include running, hiking, camping, playing music, and practicing Spanish whenever possible. I began working at Aldrich in February of 2008 and am excited to be a part of this welcoming community. This June I'll tie the knot with my fiancée Kimmy, after which we'll move to Guatemala for two months so I can complete the research I began there last year. After completion of my research in Guatemala, I will return to Minneapolis to continue ministry at Aldrich Church.

Kathryn
Green - Administrative Assistant My employment at Aldrich began in October of 2007. I live about 3 miles away from Aldrich, in South Minneapolis, with my husband Sheraton and our Boston terrier, Glenn. I am almost finished with graduate school at St. Mary’s, from where I’ll graduate in 2009 with a M.A. in Human Development. I also attend Christos Center (in Lino Lakes), where I am about halfway finished with a two-year spiritual director training program. Being alone energizes me, as does reading, absorbing live music, eating great food, traveling, and seeing people connect with God. |
